How to Install WordPress and Configure your Newly Created WordPress Website?

It is time to Install WordPress on your New Blog.

If you’re building a Website first time, then you can’t do better than choosing WordPress.

WordPress is a very popular Content Management System, because it is intuitive, scalable and after all it is Free!

The important and best thing to know about WordPress is that, there are two versions of the Software.

WordPress.com and the second one is WordPress.org

To setup your first WordPress, we are talking here about WordPress.org

Follow the Installation Steps providing by your Web host. Actually it is an incredibly Straightforward process like Installing any other Software Online.

Start a blog using wordpress and siteground

In your SiteGround Account under “Manage Accounts” you will see similar to the above picture.

Under AUTO INSTALLERS, you can see the WordPress Icon, CLICK on it and then hit the Install Button and Customize your Settings. If still you face any problem, you can SUBMIT Ticket to Install WordPress for you, Siteground staff will do free for you.

Once WordPress is Installed either by you or with the help of SiteGround Staff, you will get an email for Login details. Make sure to Check your email account and make a note of your Username, Password and the Login Link of your Newly Installed WordPress Website.

How to Install WordPress Theme?

Choose your WordPress theme

Now the actually fun part starts while Installing your Theme. There are hundreds of Free WordPress themes available to choose from them. But you can also use paid theme if you want.

Customizing your Site’s Appearance and Activating a WordPress Theme.

In above picture, you can see:  Appearance>Themes

I’ll recommend to use free theme in the beginning of your wordpress, once your Blog/Website starts getting good Traffic, then you can change it to Paid theme.

I did the same thing for my Ease Bedding Dot Com. I used free theme for almost one year and my Blog was making around $500 and even over monthly, then only I changed the free Theme to paid. Because when your Blog is Making Money, then you’re more confident to spend some Money.

Adding New Plugins

I will Recommend using only those plugins, which personally I’m using and they are not only free, but also they are good.

You might like to Read my Post: Which Plugins are best for wordpress Sites?

Appearance > Widgets

Widgets are preset Modules or pieces of Code, which add to a Certain function that will prove Useful for your Website in some Capacity or the other.

Wordpress-widget-manager

Appearance> Menus

Menus are so important for any Website. They can offer a means to Navigate your website and its Content.

Posts> Add New

Now you are ready to  PUBLISH your first Blog post and so on many more. WordPress has a very Easy to use posting Mechanism and that’s why it is so popular.

You have two options to write your Posts. One of them is Visual Editor and the Second one is HTML Editor.

Media> Add New

If we don’t add Images and Videos, our  Content doesn’t look nice and it seems very boring. But by adding Images and videos, Content become more live and Readers love those articles, which have Images and Videos in them.

So adding Media is very easy with WordPress. You can Add the Image Title, a Caption and description to the Image. It is so important to add the Alt Text, because it helps Search Engines Identify your Image.
